Our Story
Long long ago, in a land far far away lived a knight in shining armour called Jacob and a beautiful princess called Maike. Below you can read a bit more of their story.
October, 2022
First Time We Met
The first time we met was at the Stadtmission am Kap. Jacob was looking for a lift down the road and his older brother introduces him to Maike. After that we forgot each others names but little did be know our journey was just beginning.
29st April, 2023
The First Date
Sunrise near Cape Point, on a cloudy Saturday morning. Neither of us where really looking at the sun and what started with nervous excitement became a stroll on the beach, an unexpected swim in the ocean, breakfast, laughter, conversations and the beginning of a new adventure.
19th May, 2024
She Said “Yes!”
Months of thinking and praying, weeks of planning, and a day we will never forgot. It started as “just walk along Tafelberg Road”…the walk lasted about five steps, Jacob dropped to his knee and walk became a life-changing question, a very big hug, a photo shoot with friends, a celebration with family and memory we will share for the rest of our lives.
8th February, 2025
We Are Getting Married
Fast forward a couple of months and here we are! Both Maike and Jacob have finished their degrees and are preparing to move to the Northern Cape. More exciting than all of that we’re getting married! It is not the end of the story but just the beginning and we are so excited to see what the next chapter holds…
